The Orchestra
The Nijmegen Student Orchestra Collegium Musicum Carolinum is a symphony orchestra consisting mainly of students and alumni of Radboud University the HAN and the ROC. Thanks to the enthusiasm of the members and the conductor a great variety of works can be played. In recent years the orchestra has performed works by Beethoven, Brahms, Dvorak, Mahler, Sibelius, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky, amongst others.

Every six months, one major programme is rehearsed and performed multiple times. Besides that, we often organise extra concerts or work on other projects. We also regularly go on tour. In recent years, we've gone abroad to Belgium (2014), Poland (2015), Austria (2017), Germany and Czech Republic (2018), Hungary and Slovakia (2022) and Belgium and the Czech Republic (2024). The programmes are practised at the weekly rehearsals and the semi-annual rehearsal weekend.
Beside rehearsals, we organise other activities, too, such as a "rouler" dinner, a potluck picnic and gala events. Several members have set up chamber music ensembles, and the weekly rehearsals are often ended in the pub.
